Naveed Akhtar is a Research Fellow with the Australian Office of National Intelligence (ONI). He is also a Sr. Lecturer of Machine Learning, AI and Data Science at the Department of Computer Science & Software Engineering, University of Western Australia. He is known for his research in Machine Vision & Intelligence with multiple publications in the world-leading research sources in Computer Science, including IEEE Trans. PAMI, IEEE Trans. NNLS, IJCV, CVPR and ECCV. He regularly serves as a reviewer for the top venues of his research field, e.g., Nature Machine Intelligence, TPAMI, TNNLS, CVPR, ICCV and ECCV. He has been acknowledged as  'outstanding reviewer' by CVPR and Pattern Recognition journal. He serves as Area Chair for CVPR 2022 - the highest ranked venue in Computer Science. He also serves/d as an Associate Editor for IEEE Access and as a Guest Editor for NCAA and Remote Sensing, handelling more than 100 submissions. He is a Finalist for the Western Australia's Early Career Scientist of the Year 2021. He is a Chief Investigator for research projects worth more than 3 million dollars. His current research interests include deep learning, adversarial machine learning, computer vision, 3D point cloud analysis and remote sensing.
